TAYLA & FAROUK
Tayla Innes (second from the right) has been training with Nicker & Whinny for endurance since February 2018 and has come straight from pony club into 40km rides. Training with Sonya on Nicker and Whinny's latest newbie Kholonial Lightning Jack (second from the left), Tayla and Farouk have taken to the long hours required for training like they have been doing the work for years. Congratulations to Tayla, it takes determination and dedication to pick up on the requirements of the sport so quickly. We look forward to more rides in 2018 & beyond! Photo courtesy of Denise Keelan
TAYLA'S FIRST 80KM RIDE
Tayla's goal was to be able to complete an 80km ride in 2018 after starting in endurance in February. She completed her first 80km ride on Farouk at Fernvale in November 2018. After starting in the dark, Tayla's first start with a torch strapped to her helmet. They completed the 3 leg 80km ride, with 3 Vet checks on straight A's in all parameters in 2nd place. At presentations Farouk was awarded the 'Best Conditioned Horse' for the Junior division, in a very competitive field. CONGRATULATIONS!! What a way to end their first endurance season together.
